Onli in da Pilipins? NOT!

Filipinos are not the only ones who are cuckoo about celebrities endorsing presidentiables. The web is full of political ads for both Republican and Democratic U.S. Presidential candidates. While some commercials bear semblance to fact, some have crossed over to the realm of absurdity. Political ads are not about real and meaningful issues at all. Rather, they are about whose spindoctors can produce tv and web-friendly soundbytes.

Barack Obama seems to be ahead of John McCain in the number of celebrity endorsers. But what happens when McCain tries to be cool? Check out his politic-ad:

The Hiltons immediately expressed outrage at McCain’s ad. But then, there’s no one better than Paris at maximizing her fullest potentials. Highbrows may frown at her antics, but she should be credited with knowing how to take advantage of her celebrity status like no other. If nothing else, self-marketing is her No. 1 talent. Remember the sex video that launched her career? It certainly didn’t hurt A Simple Life, which went on for five seasons despite its utter pointlessness.

Paris’ response ad below shows us why Paris is hot and McCain is, well, a guy “from the olden days”.
